Role

Cloud Software Engineer at Swisscom AG, designing, developing, and operating cloud-native applications and services. I provide guidance and support to other technical product teams while also building and operating products and technical explorations.

My scope spans architecture, implementation, CI/CD, deployment, and production operations with Infrastructure-as-Code. I lead the technical direction of the Swisscom Mobility Insights platform, contribute across product teams, and support consulting, developer-experience, and AI adoption initiatives. Selected Work & Impact

Swisscom Mobility Insights Portal

Swisscom Mobility Insights is an AWS microservices platform serving production customer workloads. I grew from a supporting role into the technical owner and platform lead. My tasks and responsibilities included:

• Designed and implemented new Java and Spring Boot microservices, database migrations, and supporting AWS infrastructure.
• Extended, refactored, and operated existing services and AWS CDK infrastructure in production.
• Led architecture and design decisions for ECS Fargate, RDS PostgreSQL Multi-AZ, SQS event-driven messaging, ALB, KMS, and Secrets Manager, all provisioned as Infrastructure-as-Code with AWS CDK in TypeScript.
• Drove platform modernisation across Java and Spring Boot upgrades, CI/CD standardisation, automated security checks, identity and access management, and OpenTelemetry observability.
• Guided and supported external frontend developers working with Vue 3 and TypeScript.
• Translated business requirements into delivery plans and aligned technical decisions with product goals.
• Onboarded and mentored team members on platform architecture, development workflows, and AWS infrastructure.

Swiss AI Assistant

The Swiss AI Assistant is an enterprise AI assistant developed by Swisscom. It is built on and connects to Swisscom's Swiss AI Platform. Our team was given the opportunity to design, develop, and deliver the whole platform from scratch. It's embedded in various third-party Swisscom internal services to work with the existing Swisscom infrastructure and offerings. Among my tasks were:

• Contributed backend features to ORO, Swisscom's enterprise AI assistant, within a larger product team.
• Built Java and Spring Boot features using hexagonal architecture and Spring AI for vendor-independent integration with Swisscom Gen AI Studio, Llama 4, and Whisper.
• Implemented and coordinated major version and tool upgrades.

Customer Products & Technical Consulting

Beyond platform work, I've built customer-facing products and taken on technical consulting engagements for external companies. This work spans frontend development, systems integration, and architecture assessment. My tasks and responsibilities included:

• Built a React and TypeScript frontend application embedded into Amazon Connect Agent Workspace, integrating Connect SDKs, OpenAPI services, Azure AD SSO, Docker/nginx, and GitLab CI/CD.
• Worked directly with customers to incorporate user feedback into frontend and workflow decisions.
• Supported the integration of third-party software and infrastructure into Swisscom systems.
• Conducted architecture, technology-stack, and process assessments for external companies, and presented written recommendations and target architectures.

Internal Developer Toolkit

To improve developer experience across the team, I built and maintained a set of internal automation tools. The goal was to reduce onboarding friction and make local development environments more consistent. My tasks and responsibilities included:

• Built and maintained a team-wide macOS developer automation suite in Zsh, including one-command environment setup, network-aware proxy and registry switching, multi-version language management, and certificate handling.
• Made local environments more consistent and reproducible while reducing manual onboarding work for all toolkit users.

Secure Regulated Data Platform

Through a consulting assignment, I supported a regulated data platform. The work covered infrastructure automation, certificate lifecycle management, deployment tooling, and operational documentation. My tasks and responsibilities included:

• Automated repeatable provisioning and configuration workflows.
• Improved certificate lifecycle and deployment processes.
• Built operational tooling and strengthened runbooks and technical documentation.

AI Ambassador Programme

As a member of Swisscom's AI Ambassador Programme, I evaluate emerging AI and developer-productivity tools and share my findings with colleagues. My tasks and responsibilities included:

• Evaluated emerging AI and developer-productivity tools for potential adoption.
• Shared findings and best practices with colleagues across teams.
• Supported colleagues in adopting useful AI-assisted workflows and practices.
